Dube death not a hit - police 21/10/2007 19:41 - (SA) Johannesburg - Police have arrested five men in connection with the death of reggae star Lucky Dube, who was gunned down last Thursday. Police spokesperson Eugene Opperman said the men were arrested on Sunday morning and would appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. He said police seized two stolen handguns and a car allegedly used during the crime. Dube was killed after he dropped off two of his teenage sons at his brother's Johannesburg house. His friends told Sunday newspapers they believed it was a targeted assassination. But Opperman said police were sticking to the initial theory of a botched hijacking. ************** |
